On Sunday, Feb. 10, several members of the Piney Orchard Figure Skating Team achieved success at the Bowie Valentine's Invitational Competition endorsed by the Ice Skating Institute.
The most celebrated event was the first place gold medal taken by the Production Team's first rendition of "Beatlemania."
Coached by Amy McPartland with the help of Kira Woods, 25 members of the team ranging in age from 5 years to two "adult moms," skated through a mix of popular songs sporting the 1960s look with go-go dresses, wigs, instruments, and bright yellow (submarine) rain slickers.
