6-lane plan for Rt. 175 draws oppositionPublished 06/27/08
Residents, county officials, business leaders and politicians all spoke last night against what they don't want on Route 175: six lanes. At a meeting at Meade Middle School hosted by the State Highway Administration, many of the 150 people there said that adding two lanes to the four- lane road would harm historical assets, established businesses and communities and could threaten the future of the Odenton Town Center. SHA is trying to find ways to make the stretch of Route 175 between Route 170 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway safer while moving more cars quicker.
