The first time Robert Hidrobo tossed his fishing line into Lake Waterford in Pasadena last Sunday, it was only a matter of minutes before he caught his first fish. Robert, a member of Odenton Cub Scout Pack 209, along with 40 other Cub Scout anglers, siblings and families, gathered at the Blue Jay pavilion in Pasadena for their very first fishing derby.

BOTTOM: Odenton Tiger Cub Ruben Canty from Pack 209 with his first fish ever caught, a 7-inch blue gill. The fish is being held by Cubmaster Al Furlow.
The boys tried a variety of bait including corn, hotdogs and worms. "The fish seem to prefer the hotdogs and worms better," said Cub Master Al Furlow.
All fish caught were returned to the water after posing for a photo opportunity.
