Attorney General Doug Gansler and Environment Secretary Shari T. Wilson officially notified the Army yesterday of the state's intent to sue under a federal law called the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act that governs hazardous waste.
The citizen lawsuit can't be filed until at least 90 days after the notice was sent. In the meantime, the various parties could reach a settlement.
