Around West County: Quilting club donates full-size quilts to Sarah's House

It was a project 10 years in the making, thousands upon thousands of stitches, and completed over many gatherings and luncheons in many homes.

The ladies of the Greater Quilting Club of Odenton donated two full-size quilts to Sarah's House, to be raffled later this year as a fundraiser.

Years ago, Wal-Mart stores would hold a contest of quilt blocks. Awards were given for best design, best use of color and more. The quilt blocks ended up in the hands of Dot Forliones, a member of Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton.

A family member of Dot's won one of the local contests more than 10 years ago. Dot ended...
