Around West County: Odenton Ice Cream Social brings community togetherPublished 06/10/09
It seemed, for just a few hours Sunday, the hands of time were reversed by 100 years or so. Gone were the worries and cares of today's world. Instead, more than 250 people from the community gathered at the old Masonic Temple, which is now the Odenton Historical Society, for a good, 'ole fashioned Ice Cream Social. Ladies wore their Sunday best and matching flowered hats. Inside, people gathered at tables to nibble on the homemade goodies and desserts handed out by Barbara Carrick, dressed in colonial-style clothing, while others ate ice cream by the cone and cup. Little ones enjoyed the rainbow sprinkles over their ice...
