Around West County: Odenton dedicates Veterans Memorial conceived as Eagle projectPublished 10/14/09
Odenton is the town the railroad built. That railroad carried hundreds of thousands of military members to and from Fort George G. Meade, but until now, Odenton did not have a veterans memorial to honor the sacrifices our military men and women have made and continue to make so that we may enjoy freedom.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All” — was dedicated Sunday at the Odenton Masonic Center.BOTTOM: Master Sgt. Scott Holfbert, an Army bugler, played “Taps” at the dedication of the new Veterans Memorial Sunday. Clifton Romer, 17, of Odenton, tells why he decided to create a veterans memorial for Odenton, the only one of its kind in the community. Clifton completed the project as part of his Eagle Scout program. Clifton Romer, 17, a student at Arundel High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 755, has worked tirelessly over the summer with members of the troop to create such a memorial.
