Students and staff at Arundel Middle School were heating things up in the cafeteria on Sunday in their first "So You Think You Can Cook" healthy lifestyle contest, sponsored by the school PTA.

Aqilah Toney serves up a cup of her turkey chili which won overall first place at last Sunday’s “So You Think You Can Cook” contest. Her dish will soon be featured as a special for one week at Nautilus Diner in Crofton.
Tonya Toney, PTA vice president who applied for a $1,000 grant from the National PTA, said Arundel Middle PTA was among more than 280 PTAs across the nation to apply and was one of 45 awarded for their creative ways of keeping children healthy, active and ready to learn.
