A sprinkling rain came but the work went on with about 50 people, including teachers and the principal of Waugh Chapel Elementary School, who came out to help do a complete landscape overhaul with donated labor, materials and landscape design.

Emily Wirt, 9, a fourth-grader at Waugh Chapel Elementary in Odenton, helped plant flowers at her school on Saturday.
This complete transformation of the entrance of the school all came from just a simple idea of selling engraved bricks as a fundraiser for playground equipment.
One idea led to another and the end project will include ornamental plantings, a vegetable learning garden for the entire student body to enjoy, a brick walkway and park benches.
