Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello popularized the beach party in the 1960s with five campy scene-by-the-sea flicks.
Not to be outdone, the friends of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation know how to stuff a wild bikini and play beach blanket bingo in bay-friendly style.
For the third year in a row, the Boatyard Bar & Grill is presenting Bands in the Sand, a hip, hot party to benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Shine or rain, the beach-a-thon of the year happens Saturday, June 21, from 5 to 10:30 p.m. The dress code is barefoot and casual. Drop your shoes in the Shoe Dock and wiggle those naked toes in the sand as you toast...
