The influx of upscale national restaurant chains fueled much of the continued growth in the dining scene in greater Annapolis in 2008.

Chang's China Bistro was among the restaurants that opened at the long-awaited Annapolis Towne Centre in 2008. The long-awaited Annapolis Towne Centre opened at the site of the old Parole Plaza Shopping Center and with it came P.F. Chang's China Bistro and Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, known for its handcrafted lagers and ales. At the Westfield Annapolis mall, the list of new restaurants includes Stoney River Legendary Steaks, The Cheesecake Factory, Austin Grill and Great Wraps.
