As a wide-eyed little kid, Zydeco fell in love with the music of Fats Domino. The big star with the big car made quite an impression on the boy they called Joe. It wasn't until he fulfilled his dream to become a musician that Stanley Durel Jr. was christened "Buckwheat" by friend and fellow musician Eddie Taylor, who said he looked sort of like the "Little Rascals" Buckwheat.
