Philanthropist shares his passion for open space

For a decade, Annapolis philanthropists Tom and Kitty Stoner have been spreading their love for the great outdoors by funding community gardens, hospital meditation courtyards and even a landscaped reflection area at a prison.

The book documents the work of Mr. Stoner's TKF Foundation. Ms. Kennedy is a board member of Unity Gardens, a community greening group that got its start through the TKF Foundation.

Now they have another tool to share their message: Mr. Stoner co-authored a book documenting some of their most touching and inspirational projects.

From more than 100 projects - about one-quarter of them in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County - Mr. Stoner and the staff of his TKF Foundation picked 10 to highlight in the book, titled "Open Spaces, Sacred Places."
