Severn River facing problemsPublished 10/22/08
Like the Chesapeake Bay as a whole, the Severn River suffers from dirty runoff from paved surfaces, a loss of beneficial trees and a suffocating lack of oxygen in the water. That was the conclusion of several experts who delivered the "State of the Severn River" to more than 60 advocates gathered in Annapolis last night for a meeting of the Severn River Association. I grew up in maryland most of my life. Im 25 years old and i moved to go into the US Navy when i was 19. Marylands watershed played a big part in my growing up. I have many fond memories of the area. As well as many life lessons learned, Its where i learned to fish, pilot a power boat, I got my power boating license at YMCA camp letts. It is a shame the rivers have gotten so bad, they were is bad shape when i lived there but not this bad. guys please do your part to preserve the heratige that this area has and the outstanding beauty, I have lived many places in my life nothing touches the beauty of a sunset on the good old chesapeke bay.
