Bay leaders make more cleanup promisesPublished 11/21/08
WASHINGTON, D.C. - State and federal leaders of the Chesapeake Bay cleanup effort made more promises yesterday, but offered few assurances they'll succeed in their efforts.

Chesapeake Bay Foundation President Will Baker leads a rally outside Union Station in Washington, D.C., site of the annual Chesapeake Executive Council meeting. Mr. Baker and others criticized the council for failing to take meaningful steps to restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay.Governors and officials from the states that drain into the bay as well as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency and others gathered at Union Station for a meeting of what's called the Chesapeake Executive Council.
