County clarifies tax creditThe last edition of the Our Bay section featured an article about a tax credit for county property owners who install rain-saving device, such as rain barrels and rain gardens. It turns out the county inadvertently described the tax credit program as more generous than it really is. Property owners can earn a credit on their property tax equal to 2 percent of the cost of the device. The credit is good for up to five years, representing a total 10 percent credit over that time.
