Officials: Bay cleanup administrators hid failurePublished 12/28/08
WASHINGTON (AP) — Government administrators of the Chesapeake Bay cleanup concealed that the effort was failing for years in hopes of continuing to get federal and state funds, former officials said.
William Matuszeski, who led the Environmental Protection Agency's Chesapeake Bay Program from 1991 to 2001, told The Washington Post that the program repeatedly released data that exaggerated its success, hoping to influence Congress.

OK, so maybe the stats were overstated some. I'm happy they were. We should be glad the administrators are smart enought to understand that progress needs to be shown. Sometimes you have to go with the flow to get the right thing done. To Save The Bay is the right thing. Without a healthy bay we have no Md. We all know it supports the entire economy of the state. Noone wants to be here if the bay is a sewer. That might sound extreme but you get my point. We need it to support the tax base. So lets keep up the great work we are all doing to Save The Bay.
