Watermen guilty of rockfish violationsPublished 02/20/09
GREENBELT - Five watermen, including two from Anne Arundel County, pleaded guilty yesterday to federal violations as part of the largest illegal fishing investigation in Chesapeake Bay history. The watermen are accused of catching and selling more than $2 million worth of rockfish that was illegally caught or improperly reported. They face up to five years in prison, up to $250,000 in fines and the loss of their boats when they are sentenced in April. The men who pleaded guilty yesterday to violating the federal Lacey Act were: Keith A. Collins of Deale. Charles Quade of Churchton. Thomas L. Crowder Jr....
