I am profoundly saddened by the passing of Bill Burton. In years past, Bill and I spent many happy hours hunting geese, fishing for bass, and simply enjoying each other's company.

What a dear man - 2009-08-10 15:46:45

I got to work with Bill as an election judge just a couple of elections ago and it was a pleasure to sit beside him and see everyone who came through greet him with admiration and affection ... you could see especially the grown men return to the boys of their youth, eager to share their fishing stories with Bill, who was ever gracious. I often saw him with his wife and small granddaughter around Pasadena, and wondered at his wife's good nature as people couldn't seem to help going over and shaking his hand (myself included). No one seemed to consider Bill a stranger. I will miss him just on the basis of our brief acquaintance and I'm sorry for his family's private loss. I'd like to thank them for sharing Bill with us all these years. He really was a treasure of the community.
