Locally Grown: Frozen treats from home sweet, creamy

While "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is a great sentiment, it's daunting when you are facing the prospect of minus 20 degree wind chills or 4 feet of snow.

Good will toward men is easily lost while you sit for hours on board an airplane, while crews try to de-ice enough for takeoff.

All is not calm while you skid sideways along an icy highway, wishing you had a one-horse open sleigh to take you to grandma's house.

Don't let it snow is the refrain when you are obligated to get home to take care of livestock that depend on you for water, food and warmth.

So it seemed more than a little ironic...
