ANNAPOLIS AREA Cool thief Hot weather earlier this week apparently drove someone to commit a crime, by swiping an air conditioning unit from the Chesapeake School of Esthetics Monday or Tuesday, city police said. Property manager Patricia Mason told police that she noticed the unit was missing from Suite W at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Betty Wilder, the owner, had last seen the unit when she left the building at 10 p.m. Monday and set an alarm, police said. The air conditioner is worth about $300.
