Police beat: Aug. 19Published 08/19/05
ANNAPOLIS AREA Assault Two men attacked an Edgewater man Thursday morning as he was walking along Church Circle, city police said. Robert Ryan Lee, of 12319 Rambling Lane, Bowie, was charged with assault after he and a friend allegedly punched and kicked Albert Vanzyl at 1:30 a.m. Mr. Lee and his friend asked Mr. Vanzyl and his friend if they wanted to "roll," which Mr. Vanzyl took to be slang for a challenge to a fight. Mr. Vanzyl ignored them, but Mr. Lee and his friend attacked him, police said. Police arrested Mr. Lee, and his friend ran away. The friend was identified later, but there was insufficient...
