Water rescue
A woman braved dangerously cold bay temperatures for 30 minutes Friday, after she jumped off a dock in Arundel on the Bay to save her dog when it fell into the water.
It happened around 7 p.m. at 1322 Magnolia Ave., and the woman clung to the pier until help arrived.
"Our concern of course was to get her out of the water before she began suffering from hypothermia," said Lt. Fennel, a spokesman for the county Fire Department. The temperature at nearby Thomas Point Friday night was 57 degrees.
