Born Jan. 14, 1923, in Brooklyn. N.Y., and reared in Queens, Mr. Asman graduated from high school. A private first class in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he served with the 82nd Airdrome Squadron. He was in the northern France and Central Europe campaigns and received the Victory and Good Conduct medals.
