Capt. Cosper was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Detroit, Mich. He graduated from the University of Michigan and was a lifelong member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
He served in the Navy from 1939 through the Korean War and remained active in the Navy Reserves until 1975. Following his active duty service, he worked for General Services Administration in Washington, D.C.
