Mrs. Brooks was born May 28, 1921, in Jumping Branch, W.Va. She was a military wife, who also lived in Alabama and South Carolina while her husband, Staff Sgt. Troy Cecil Brooks, who died in 1968, served in the armed forces.
She worked for 35 years as a civil servant at Fort George G. Meade and held various positions at the post commissary.
Her interests included watching birds, gardening and playing cards.
