An Annapolis man is being held on $250,000 bond after breaking a bottle over a woman's head when she refused to give him a cigarette Wednesday night, police said. Police were called to West Washington Street at 10:53 p.m. for an assault report. A woman, Kim Sharper, was found on the sidewalk bleeding from the head and unconscious. A witness told police he had seen a man hit her on the head with a wine bottle and gave officers a description of the suspect.
