Wednesday's obituaries recognize: Terry Butler, Albert Hanley Jr., Patricia McGeeney, Sharon Robinson, Jewel Vandevander, Margaret Wallace, George Weitzel and David Wright. Terry Butler Terry R. Butler, 55, of North Beach died March 23 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick. Mr. Butler was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Washington, D.C., to Alice L. Butler of Chesapeake Beach and the late John W. Butler, and attended Suitland Junior and Senior high schools. He lived in Hyattsville, Bladensburg and Bowie before moving to Calvert County in 1987. An automobile mechanic, he worked for Martin and Boyd Spring Works in Washington. He retired in 1982 due to a work related back injury. In retirement he developed Speedway Productions, an auto racing video production company. His show "Southern Maryland Motor Sports" has appeared on the local cable channel in southern Maryland for the past 15 years. He was interested in auto racing, and was an avid Washington Redskins and Maryland Terrapins fan. He enjoyed time with his family and loved animals, especially his pet dogs. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Karen L. Baird Butler; two sons, Jesse E. and Terry R. Butler Jr. of North Beach; one brother, John W. Butler of Severn; and two sisters, Judy E. Wagaman and Janet M. Ricks of Chesapeake Beach. Family and friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane in Owings. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southern Memorial Gardens in Dunkirk. Albert Hanley Jr. Albert Francis "Al" Hanley Jr., 82, of Waugh Chapel for six years and previously of Annapolis and Crofton, died of complications of diabetes March 23 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Mr. Hanley was born July 28, 1925, in Canandaigua, N.Y., where he graduated from Canandaigua Academy and attended Syracuse University. He was a credit manager for Citibank. Mr. Hanley served in the Army in World War II, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, and worked as a volunteer at Anne Arundel Medical Center for many years. He sang in a Barbershop Quartet for many years, and loved music of all kinds. He also enjoyed playing golf and bridge, watching all sports and watching cartoons with his grandchildren. His family loved him. Survivors include two sons, James Hanley of Gambrills and Kevin Hanley of Chandler, Ariz.; three daughters, Nancy Radford and Barbara Hanley of Glen Burnie and Laurie Hanley of Linthicum Heights; two brothers, Robert Hanley of Canandaigua and Gary Hanley of Avon, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 N.W. Crain Highway in Bowie. A Mass of Christian burial and a celebration of his life will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Drive in Crofton. Patricia McGeeney Patricia Ann McGeeney, 69, of Selbyville, Del., and previously of Linthicum, died March 22 in her home after battling breast cancer for 28 years. Mrs. McGeeney was born May 24, 1938, in Baltimore. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines, and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, George W. McGeeney; four sons, George W. McGeeney Jr. of Baltimore, Michael S. McGeeney of West River, John P. McGeeney of Loveland, Ohio, and Timothy J. McGeeney of Pennington, N.J.; one daughter, Conni E. Baker of Georgetown, Texas; two brothers, William Beresh of Forest Hill in Harford County and Robert Beresh of Bel Air; and 11 grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hubbard Funeral Home, 4107 Wilkens Ave. in Baltimore. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6405 S. Orchard Road in Linthicum. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville. Arrangements are by Hastings Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947. Sharon Robinson Sharon Vastine Robinson, 51, a life-long resident of Annapolis, died of unknown causes March 19 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Ms. Robinson was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Annapolis and attended Anne Arundel County public schools. She was the treasurer of the Policy Council for the Obery Court Head Start Program, and was a member of the Community Action Agency's Board of Directors. Survivors include four daughters, Adria Parker, Akeisha Tuck and Natasha Clark of Annapolis and Dadria Tuck of Glen Burnie; four brothers, George "Butch" Matthews of Glen Burnie and Jamel, Morris and Austin Robinson Sr. of Annapolis; nine sisters, Sherrilynn Harris of Abingdon, Bonita Musser of Odenton and Karla Cromwell, Trina Oliver, Shalisa Robinson, Mildred Trotter, Janice Whittington, Lauren Bland and Cecile Jackson of Annapolis; and seven grandchildren. A Christian wake will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church, 657 Broadneck Road in Annapolis. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be private; arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary. Jewel Vandevander Incorrect information was submitted for the obituary for Jewel Vandevander, 81, of Edgewater in Tuesday's edition of The Capital. Survivors include his sisters, Joanna Vandevander of Massachusetts and Cindy Vandevander of Terra Alta, W.Va. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Margaret Wallace A celebration of life service for Margaret "Peg" Wallace, 84, of Eastport will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 8 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Second St. in Eastport. The doors will open at 6:45 p.m., and the service will be followed by refreshments. Ms. Wallace died of cancer March 20 at the Spa Creek Center. George Weitzel George Henry Weitzel, 79, of Salisbury and previously of Round Bay in Severna Park, died of a heart attack March 21 in his home. Mr. Weitzel was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Pittsburgh, and graduated from Brentwood High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for 50 years as an electrical manufacturer's representative in the Baltimore-Washington area. Mr. Weitzel was a member of the Freemasons, and of the Bay Hills, Ocean Pines and Naval Academy golf clubs, the Ocean Pines Community Church and formerly of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. He was a youth football coach for the Green Hornets, and was instrumental in establishing the Hornets' basketball program. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beryl L. Weitzel. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Phyllis J. Moody Weitzel; three sons, Blair D. Weitzel of Centreville, Blaine G. Weitzel of Cambridge and Brian R. Weitzel of Suwanee, Ga.; two daughters, Cink J. DeVeas of Severna Park and Stacey J. Weitzel of Pasadena; one sister, Patricia Charlesworth of Avon, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. David Wright David Wendell Wright, 75, a resident of Arnold for 16 years, died of pneumonia March 22 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a sudden illness. Mr. Wright was born May 3, 1932, in Watertown, Mass., and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1954. An entrepreneur, he traveled around the world until settling in Annapolis. Mr. Wright served in the Army, where he was in special operations in Germany; his last assignment was as the leader of a ski patrol in Garmisch, Germany. He received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct medals. He was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed tennis, snow skiing and reading. He was devoted to his wife and family. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Nancy S. Wright; one daughter, Tracey Wright of Syracuse, N.Y.; two stepsons, John Flannery of Cazenovia, N.Y., and Michael Flannery of Miami, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A memorial service and interment are private. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.
