Deborah Bordley
Deborah Emory Bordley, 53, of Grasonville died May 20 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs. Bordley was born May 10, 1955, in Centreville to the late Oscar Griffin and Daisy E. Little. She graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in Centreville.
She was employed for several years as a cook for Camp Wright and housekeeping supervisor for Sleep Inn in Grasonville. She retired due to disability from head of housekeeping for Ramada Inn in Annapolis.
Mrs. Bordley was known for her love for children. She had six godchildren and was like a mother to others.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Bordley; one stepdaughter, Brittany Bordley; seven sisters, Jennifer DeWitt of Annapolis, Elaine Griffin of Burlington, N.J., Janet Emory Hinsey of Centreville, Bertina Emory of Easton, Linda Bordley of Stevensville, Arlene Roberts of Grasonville and Sheila White of New Castle, Del.; and one stepbrother, Charles Hammond of Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Union Wesley United Methodist Church, 110 Union Wesley Circle in Chester, with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment will follow in Robinson's Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henry Funeral Home.
William Brashears
William Lewis Brashears Sr., 89, a lifelong resident of Mayo, died of heart failure May 24 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Brashears was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Mayo to the late Joseph Lester and Blanche Lewis Brashears. He attended Mayo Elementary School and graduated from Annapolis High School in 1936.
He worked at the former Henry B. Myers Gift Shop on West Street for a year following high school, and afterwards worked at the Annapolis Bank and Trust. He then worked as a budget analyst at the Navy Yard and Naval Gun Factory in Washington, D.C., from 1938 to 1962, and retired in 1972 from the Naval Oceanographic Office.
Mr. Brashears served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Pearl B. Brashears; one son, William L. Brashears Jr. of Edgewater; one daughter, Bonnie L. Ayers of Burnsville, Minn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may join in the celebration of his life from noon until the service begins at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Interment will follow at Mayo United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Leotta Cannon
Leotta Mae Cannon, 86, a resident of Annapolis for 30 years and previously of Titusville, Fla., died of complications from dementia May 26 at Spa Creek Nursing Home after an illness lasting four years.
Ms. Cannon was born April 27, 1922, in Annapolis and attended Annapolis High School.
She worked for Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co., and enjoyed camping and crafting.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Sonny Saffield.
Survivors include one son, Robert Cannon of Denton; one daughter, Nancy C. Newsome of Annapolis; one sister, Margaret Milbourne of Hebron; and five grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit at 10 a.m. tomorrow until the start of the service at 11:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Minna Joseph
Minna Louise Messick Joseph, 82, a resident of Annapolis for 38 years and previously of Salisbury, died of multiple myeloma May 25 in her home after an illness lasting seven months.
Mrs. Joseph was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Baltimore to the late Minna Louise Kubitz and Carter Denson Messick Sr. She graduated from Annapolis High School and Bard-Avon Business School.
She worked as a secretary for the Naval Academy Chemistry Department, as secretary for the Naval Station Chaplain and as a secretary for Messick and Associates.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Trinity United Methodist Church, as well as the Lee Society of Virginia.
Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Dr. Stanley R. Joseph; one son, John H. Joseph of Huntingtown; two daughters, Minna J. Leydorf and Jane C. Joseph of Annapolis; one brother, Carter Denson Messick Jr. of Kilmarnock, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Susan Karr
Susan Carmel "Sue" Musumeci Karr, 62, of Harwood died of respiratory failure May 15 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood after a two year battle with ALS disease.
Mrs. Karr was born Sept. 30, 1945, in Philadelphia to Carmen Musumeci of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the late Agnes Musumeci. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, Pa.
As the wife of an Air Force officer, she lived in many different states as well as in the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany. She toured Russia, Israel, Ireland, France, Austria and Switzerland.
Mrs. Karr often volunteered her services to support military family and social activities.
Survivors include her husband, retired Air Force Lt. Col. William Karr Jr. of North Platte, Neb., and Fort Meade's RV park; two daughters, Laura Grasso of Wyano, Pa., and Gwen Karr of Baltimore; one brother, Joe Musumeci of Fort Lauderdale; one sister, Rose Musumeci of Fort Lauderdale; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Mandrin Hospice House, 3675 Solomons Island Road in Harwood.Arrangements are by Thibadeau Mortuary Service of Silver Spring.
Elsie Larkin
Elsie Elizabeth Larkin, 87, a resident of Bowie for 44 years, died of cancer May 23 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood after a six-month illness.
Mrs. Larkin was born March 13, 1921, in Baltimore to the late Wilhelmina Lyons.
She was a member of the Bowie Square Cuts, and was an avid gardener and enthusiastic golfer. She also enjoyed cooking and homemaking.
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, James J. Larkin; two sons, Douglas J. Larkin of Stephens City, Va., and Robert J. Larkin of Edgewater; one sister, Madeline Malkin of Parkville; and four grandchildren.

John Love
John Marshall Love, 77, a resident of Arnold for over 43 years, died suddenly of heart failure May 22 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Love was born March 5, 1931, in Baltimore, where he was also raised. He graduated from Loyola College. He was a retired fundraiser for non-profit organizations.
He served in the Army in Korea.
He was member of the Franciscans Third Order, and was very active in his church and school community while his children were growing up.
He was preceded in death by one son, James H. Love; and one brother, Richard D. Love Jr.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Virginia H. Love; two sons, John Marshall Love Jr. of Edgewater and Christopher Love of Fairfax, Va; three daughters, Jacqueline Love Neil of Arnold and Mary Love Kaulius and Beth Love Sherwood, both of Severna Park; one sister, Clara Fisher of Baltimore; and 14 grandchildren.

James McDonnell
James Joseph McDonnell Jr., 75, a resident of Severn for 29 years and formerly of Riviera Beach, died of cancer May 24 in his home after an illness lasting three years.
Mr. McDonnell was born June 21, 1932, in Baltimore to the late Rosalie and James J. McDonnell Sr. He attended Loyola College.
He worked for SylePlus Clothes in Baltimore from 1958 to 1973, then worked at Lowen Sign Co. He was the owner of Walls, Etc., from 1988 to 2008.
Mr. McDonnell served as a corporal in the Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict, from August 1953 to May 1955.
He enjoyed his work, his family, and time at his cabin in the mountains near Bedford, Pa.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Elizabeth Nagle McDonnell; four sons, Thomas P., David E., Kevin C. and James J. McDonnell III; one daughter, Frances M. Norden; one brother, John McDonnell; and one sister, Dolores McDonnell.

Hubert Minton
Hubert Edward "Hugh" Minton, 75, of Bowie died of diabetes and a stroke May 21 in his home after an illness lasting 14 years.
Mr. Minton was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Knoxville, Tenn., to the late Andrew and Mary Minton.
He worked in construction, and served in the Army as a specialist 5 for 13 years.
He enjoyed bowling, softball, volleyball, horse shoes, reading and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Minton; one sister, Marie Ferguson; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Edna Minton; two sons, Robert Martin of Pasadena and John Martin of Prince Frederick; seven daughters, Regina Mamourian of Knoxville, Theresa Landress, Lorrie Minton and Susan Clark of Bowie; Janice Mears of Orlando, Fla., and Sherry Brazier and Angel Minton of Lothian; two brothers, Richard and Gary Minton of Knoxville; three sisters, Gail Carmon, Virginia Yates and Jeanetta Britt of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Thomas Junior "T.J." Moles, 80, a resident of Odenton for seven years and previously of Millersville, died May 23 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Moles was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Rose Hill, Va., to the late James Henry and Maggie Haley Moles.
He worked for the State of Maryland in Crownsville and Jessup from 1948 to 1981, and for Paul F. Door and Sons' Texaco station in Crownsville.
Survivors include his wife, Ida A. Moles; one son, Thomas M. Moles of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Julia M. Fers of Laurel and Lisa M. McDermott of Edgewater; and eight grandchildren.

Rose Parkinson
Rose Isabelle "Toots" Parkinson, 84, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died of renal failure May 24 in her home after an illness lasting less than a year.
Mrs. Parkinson was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Annapolis and graduated in 1942 from Annapolis High School.
She worked as an account technician in the supply department at the Naval Academy from 1949 to 1979.
She enjoyed going to lunch with her girl friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 30 years, Leonard James Parkinson; two brothers, Richard E. and Henry E. Carroll; and five sisters, Ruth H. Reckner, Annie S. Roberson, Eva K. Bowdle, Frances Lipke and Margaret Horn.
Survivors include one son, James C. Parkinson of Annapolis.

James Ridout Jr.
James Atlee Ridout Jr., 77, a life-long resident of Annapolis, died of complications from Parkinson's disease May 23 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Ridout was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Annapolis to the late Tempa Bradshaw Russell and James A. Ridout Sr.
He retired from the Department of Defense as an electronics technician with over 30 years of service. Previously, he worked for Honeywell of Annapolis.
He served in the Army as a technical sergeant from 1951 to 1954.
He was a member of Volunteer Rescue Hose 1 in Annapolis, was a longtime volunteer in the county schools and was active in Indian Guides of the YMCA.
He enjoyed electronics, photography, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, gardening, growing African Violets and traveling to Lancaster, Pa.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edmund Webster Egbert.
Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Eleanore Cadle Ridout; one son, Patrick Scott Ridout of Oreland, Pa.; one daughter, Susan Ridout Moore of Chestertown; one sister, Mary Alice Butler of Annapolis; and two granddaughters.

Vincent Salomone
Vincent Charles "Vinnie" Salomone, 60, of Marshall, N.C., and formerly of Annapolis died May 22 at Missions Hospital in Ashville, N.C.
Mr. Salomone was born Aug. 13, 1947, in Knox County, Tenn., to the late Vincent and Jody Salomone.
He served in the Army during Vietnam.
A third-generation Master Stone Mason, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a parishioner of St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church in Mars Hill, N.C.
Survivors include his companion, Connie Barry; one brother, Tony Salomone; and seven sisters, Regina Smouse of Millersville and Jo Marie Lowe, Ann "Squeaky" Sams, Shirley Prendergast, Ellen Thursby, Patty Salomone and Sylvia "Chigger" Tolan.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Andrew's the Apostle Catholic Church, 100 W. Brook St. in Mars Hill. Arrangements are by Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
Kim Watkins-Stevens
Kim Cecelia Watkins-Stevens, 46, a life-long resident of Annapolis, died May 17 in her home after a long illness.
Ms. Watkins-Stevens was born Nov. 15, 1961, to the late Noble Watkins and Pearl R. Kyler. She attended county schools.
She worked for various companies such as Earl's Moving and Storage, Mayflower, JC Penny, Hecht's and Macy's.
She was an active member of the Second Baptist Church in Annapolis, where she enjoyed traveling to various functions and was an active member of the Sunday school.
She also participated in the Desire Group at First Christian Community Church and the Tough Love program, and was also a member of the Annapolis Gardens First Street Alumni.
She enjoyed going to church, reading the bible, cooking, walking, dancing, taking care of others and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Che Donte Brewer Sr. of Annapolis; two daughters, Jamie Erica Stevens and Ja'Nai Dantrece Turner of Annapolis; two brothers, Noble E. Watkins of Odenton and James B. Watkins of Brooklyn Park; two sisters, Lena E. Parker of Annapolis and O'Dessa E. Watkins of Columbia; two adopted sisters, Cheryl Watkins and Jackie Johnson; and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Second Baptist Church, 1808 Poplar Ave. Interment is private. Arrangements are by Reese and Son Mortuary.
