Monday's obituaries recognize: Deborah Adams, Donald Crist Sr., Martin DeMoulin, Grace Gast, Emma Pass and Alexander Young

Deborah L. Adams, 52, of Annapolis for three years and previously of Pasadena, died of breast cancer June 14 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore after an eight-year illness.

Ms. Adams was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Baltimore to Bernice Adams of Pasadena and the late John B. Adams. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1973 and attended Anne Arundel Community College.

She worked as an analyst for the National Security Agency for 35 years.

She was a member of the Pen and Quill Society of the NSA.

Ms. Adams enjoyed travel, photography, sewing and making cards on the computer.

Survivors include her husband of three years, Philip W. Jones; one stepson, Kevin Jones of Arnold; one stepdaughter, Barbara Singer of Washington, D.C.; and one brother, Jack Adams of Manalapan, N.J.

Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Donald Crist Sr.

Donald L. Crist Sr., 52, a resident of Edgewater for 29 years, died of natural causes June 12 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Crist was born March 28, 1956, in Annapolis and was raised in Arnold.

He was a former Pepsi-Cola salesman for 15 years, and then worked at Coca-Cola for eight years. He then became an independent trucker for the last 14 years.

He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. He belonged to Bay Country Vans from 1978 to 1984.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lee Crist; and one brother, James S. Crist Jr.

Survivors include one son, Donald L. Crist Jr. of Centreville; one daughter, Amy M. Crist of Edgewater; three brothers, Nelson G. Crist of Arnold, Steven Crist of Summerfield, Fla., and Richard Crist of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and five grandsons.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.

Martin DeMoulin

Incorrect information was submitted in the obituary for Martin Elza DeMoulin, 86, of Baltimore in Saturday's edition of The Capital.

Survivors include one daughter, Michele T. Fulk of Odenton.

Grace Gast

Grace Gast, 87, of Annapolis, died June 14 at Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House.

Ms. Gast was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Detroit, Mich.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Kent of California and Stuart Kent of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and one daughter, Jeanne Kent of Annapolis.

Emma Pass

Emma Grace Pass, 3-day-old daughter of Mark and Robin Pass of Annapolis, died June 14 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Emma was born June 11 in Annapolis.

Besides her parents, she is survived bytwo sisters, Kate Elizabeth and McKendree Morgan Pass of Annapolis; and her grandparents, Frederick and Elizabeth Leventry of Annapolis, Thomas and Judy Pass of Newbern, N.C., and Wynetta Pass-Kirk of Candor, N.Y.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Road in Annapolis. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home.

Alexander Young

Alexander J. "Alex" Young III, 72, of Catonsville, died of pancreatic cancer June 13 at his home.

Mr. Young was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Pittsfield, Mass., to the late Dr. and Mrs. Alexander J. Young. He graduated from Cranwell Preparatory School in Lenox, Mass., attended Georgetown University, received his bachelor's degree from Lafeyette College, and earned a master's degree from Beaver College.

He worked as a chemist at the General Electric Company in Pittsfield before moving to Maryland in 1973. He taught science at both Meade and Severna Park High Schools for the past 35 years.

Mr. Young enjoyed piloting private aircraft and sports, particularly the Boston Red Sox, Hopkins lacrosse and Notre Dame football. He also enjoyed boating, photography, and music and was an active member of his church. Among his greatest passions were his grandchildren and the students that he taught throughout his career.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Pittroff; five sons, Alexander J. "A.J." Young of Fairfax Station, Va., Bill Young of New York, Patrick Young of Zellwood, Fla., Peter Pittroff of Charlotte, N.C., and Matthew Pittroff of Baltimore; one daughter, Cathy Wolfe of New Freedom, Pa..; one brother, William Young of Hollister, Mo.; one sister, Judith Runnette of Norwalk, Conn.; and seven grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Witzke's Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike in Ellicott City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 27 Melvin Ave. in Baltimore. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Cemetery.
