Richard Beatty
Richard H. Beatty, 76, of McSherrystown, Pa., and formerly of Annapolis, died June 30 at York County Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Beatty was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Baltimore to the late Winfield H. and Dorothy M. Beatty.
He was a truck driver for 25 years. After he retired, he drove a school bus for special needs children until his death.
He served in the 82nd and the 101st airborne divisions in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a friend of Bill W. for 37 years and was a member of the American Legion and the Hanover Ward of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Winfield W. and Franklin J. Beatty.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley M. Maultsby Beatty; one son, Richard D. Beatty Sr. of McSherrystown; five daughters, Roxanne Agel of Glen Burnie, Deborah Beatty of Pasadena, Sharon Miller of New Oxford, Pa., Renee Dillard of Annapolis and Janet Hobson of McSherrystown; one brother, Donald Beatty of Baltimore; two sisters, Thelma Cummings of Halethorpe and Juanita Beatty of Baltimore; 18 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. in McSherrystown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
Armstead Farrar
Armstead William "Dyke" Farrar Jr., 56, of Gambrills died June 27 at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Mr. Farrar was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Fort George G. Meade.
Survivors include one sister, Peggy Butler.
Family and friends may visit at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Wilson Memorial United Methodist Church, 1113 Route 3 N. in Gambrills. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
Joyce Johnson
Joyce F. Watts Johnson, 62, of Annapolis died of heart failure June 28 at Future Care Nursing Home in Arnold.
Ms. Johnson was born Oct. 8, 1945, in Midland, Texas, and attended Magothy Elementary School and the former Wiley H. Bates High School.
She worked in Annapolis, and retired from the Arundel Center's snack bar in 2003.
She loved singing solos at the Severna Park Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Raymond C. Johnson, who died in 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Watts and Raymond Johnson Jr., both of Annapolis; one daughter, Angela McKinney of Annapolis; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family and friends may visit at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Severna Park Church of God, 233 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lakemont Gardens. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
John Malloy
John Charles Malloy, 71, of Bowie for 15 years and previously of Virginia, died June 29 in his home.
Mr. Malloy was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Pittsburgh. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from New York University.
He worked for the Society of the Plastics Industry for over 20 years as an association manger in New York and Washington, D.C.
He served in the Air Force.
Mr. Malloy was a board member and acted and assisted backstage at Colonial Players, Bowie Community Theater and Prince George's Little Theater.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Nancy Malloy; one son, John W. Malloy of New Jersey; two daughters, Susan Tarsi of Pennsylvania and Lori Robertson of Bowie; two sisters, Margaret Rodgers of Oregon and Martha Denevan of California; and four grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. July 13 at 14002 Tollison Drive in Bowie. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Evans Funeral Home.

Robert Poetzman
Robert Ashton Poetzman, 94, a resident of Annapolis for 42 years, died June 30 in his home.
Mr. Poetzman was born July 23, 1913, in Washington, D.C.
He worked as a sales representative for Andrews Office Supply and Equipment of Washington for many years, and was its president for six years prior to his retirement in 1975.
He was a life member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and served as chairman of several committees. Mr. Poetzman enjoyed reading, gardening and travel.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Miley Poetzman, who died in 1981; his second wife, Elinor Boschert Poetzman, who died in 1998; two sons, Robert Leroy and Errol Randolph Poetzman; one sister, Lillian Mae Biagi; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Dorothy Virginia League; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment are private. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Frances Santoriello
Frances Ann Santoriello, 76, of Annapolis since 2001 and previously of Pittsburgh, died June 30 in her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Santoriello was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Pittsburgh to the late Anthony and Clara Arcuri.
She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and enjoyed travel, cooking and her family's accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Arcuri.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack Santoriello; two sons, Ronald Santoriello of Annapolis and Drew Santoriello of Severna Park; one daughter, Jacqueline Thorne of Annapolis; one brother, Pete Arcuri; three sisters, Betty Zottola, Helen Houck and Dolores Murphy; and ten grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis.

Jonas Snyder
Jonas Mark Snyder, 60, of Sante Fe, N.M., and previously of Annapolis, died of lymphoma in his home.
Mr. Snyder was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Baltimore to Harry A. Snyder of Baltimore and the late Hilda L. Snyder. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from New Mexico Highlands University.
He worked extensively for the elderly and children, most recently at Children Youth and Family Services, Safer New Mexico Now, and Value Options.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Lynn E. Breed Snyder; one son, Ishmael Breed-Snyder of Santa Fe; one daughter, Rachael Lillian Breed-Snyder of Los Angeles; and three brothers, Joel Snyder of San Diego, Ira Snyder of Annapolis and Samuel Snyder of Baltimore.
Funeral services were held June 30 at Santa Fe Funeral Options and Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will be sitting Shivah through July 6 in the family's home.
