Thursday's obituaries recognize James Behlke, J. R. Feuchtenberger, Lynda Holland, William Jones III and Dorothy Rasmussen.

James Behlke

James Frederick "Fred" Behlke, 60, of Ellenton, Fla., and previously of Annapolis, died June 21 at TideWell Hospice in Ellenton after an illness lasting a year.

Mr. Behlke was born May 28, 1948, in Annapolis to Mary T. Cummings of Annapolis and the late Charles H. Behlke Sr. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1966.

He served in the Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant in 1998. At the time of his death he was the business services manager for Jobs ETC in Sarasota, Fla.

He was a member of Parrish United Methodist Church in Florida.

Survivors include his wife of six years, Vicki Behlke; two sons, Jason Behlke of Charlotte, N.C., and Patrick DeFeo of Parrish, Fla.; one daughter, Carrie Kohls of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Charles H. Behlke Jr. of Mayo; one sister, Charlene Opel of Milton, Del.; and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of his life was held June 29 at Parrish United Methodist Church.

J. R. Feuchtenberger

Joseph R. Feuchtenberger, 61, a life-long resident of Arnold, died of a heart attack June 29 at the Washington, D.C., Hospital Center.

Mr. Feuchtenberger was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Baltimore.

An enlisted Marine from 1966 to 1970, he was proud of his service in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Feuchtenberger; two daughters, Anya and Katya Feuchtenberger; and two sisters.

A celebration of his life will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements are by Going Home Cremation Service.

Lynda Holland

Lynda Mae Holland, 60, of Crisfield and formerly of Odenton, died of a hemorrhagic stroke June 30 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mrs. Holland was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Martinsburg, W.Va.

A homemaker, she enjoyed Bingo, fishing, crabbing, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Clyde Joe Holland of Crisfield; one son, Joe Joe Holland of Crisfield; two daughters, Tina Molina of Pasadena and Linda Crigger of Gambrills; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Marion Baptist Church in Marion Station in Somerset County. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Bradshaw and Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.

William Jones III

William Bailey Jones III, 46, a resident of the Severna Park and Annapolis areas, died unexpectedly June 23 in his home.

Mr. Jones was born July 31, 1961, in Annapolis to Virginia Louise Carson Jones of Severna Park and the late Wesley Norwood Jones.

He graduated from Severna Park High School, where he won several awards in competitive weight lifting, and attended Anne Arundel Community College.

He worked as a general handy man, computer and security systems technician, and had a number of trade certifications. He enjoyed helping others solve problems.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, and playing the guitar and had a passion for science.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Holmes Jones, who died in 2007.

Survivors include two brothers, Wesley "Kit" Jones of Riva and Ransom Sanders Jones Sr. of Arnold; and one sister, Annie Bailey Jones-Cox of Severna Park.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 12 at New Covenant Church, 365 Jones Station Road in Arnold. The service will be followed by a lunch reception. Interment is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.

Dorothy Rasmussen

Dorothy M. "Dottie" Rasmussen, 77, a resident of Annapolis for 28 years and previously of Mercerville, N.J., died of lung cancer July 1 in her daughter's home in Annapolis after a two-year illness.

Mrs. Rasmussen was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Trenton, N.J., to the late Louise and Frederick Hoffman. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1948.

She loved art and painting, passing it on to all of her children.

She was preceded in death in 1992 by her husband, Robert Warren Rasmussen.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis Martin Rasmussen of Glenwood in Howard County, Christopher William Rasmussen of Annapolis and Jason Warren Rasmussen of Annapolis; two daughters, Ellen Louise Campbell of Geneva, N.Y., and Amanda Marie Jabin of Annapolis; one brother, Vincent Hoffman of Yardville, N.J.; one sister, Carolyn Elberson of Trenton, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
