Monday's obituaries recognize: Michael Clutz Sr., Patricia Dolan, Patricia Dolan, Elturino Loiacono and Palmer C. White Michael Clutz Sr. Michael David Clutz Sr., 53, a resident of Severna Park for 19 years and previously of Arnold, died of cancer Aug. 16 in his home following a long illness. Mr. Clutz was born Dec. 19, 1954, in Baltimore to the late Geraldine Snyder and Richard Clutz Sr. He worked at Stroehman Bakery in Jessup, and retired after 15 years of service. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and shooting pool. He was the past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 175 for six years. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Gurick-Clutz; one son, Michael D. Clutz Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Crystal Ulat of Minot, N.D., and Nikki Gurick of Pasadena; three brothers, Richard Clutz Jr. of Severna Park, Steven Clutz of Crownsville and James Clutz of Baltimore; four sisters, Veronica Lloyd and Regina Shumway of Pasadena, Bonnie Smith of Greensboro and Kathleen Osborne of Ridgely; and three granddaughters. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 175, 832 Manhattan Beach Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. Dolan, 66, a resident of Lothian for six years and previously of Edgewater, died Aug. 15 at Mandrin Hospice House after a long illness. Mrs. Dolan was born Feb. 20, 1942, in Bladensburg. A homemaker, she held a CDL license and was a former dump truck driver. She was a long time scale master for Jack Owens III and a former employee at the SPCA in Annapolis. She was Catholic. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven G. Anderson. Survivors include her husband, William Dolan; one daughter, Brenda Annmarie Dillinger of Baltimore, several brothers and sisters; and five grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road in Galesville. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment is private. Ronald L'Hommedieu Ronald "Ron" Leighton L'Hommedieu, 68, of Deale died Aug. 15 in his home. Mr. L'Hommedieu was born Aug. 5, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Ralph L. and Kathryn West L'Hommedieu. He graduated from the Missouri School of Mines in Civil Engineering. He worked in construction management, beginning in the 1960s. He joined the Ralph M. Parsons Company in the late 1970s, where his projects included building the City of Yanbu in Saudi Arabia and renovating and expanding National and Dulles Airports. In the late 1990s he joined DMJM Aviation, and retired last March. He was an active member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Deale, where he taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School. He renovated and loved his home in Deale, and enjoyed wood and metalworking, vintage gas and steam engines and the Chesapeake Bay. He owned and maintained a 1939, 44 foot bay-built boat, Hellen. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Thompson "Peggy" L'Hommedieu; three sons, Richard L. L'Hommedieu of Branson, Mo., and David L. and Steven L. L'Hommedieu of St. Louis; one stepson, Kevin N. Thompson of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brothers, Jerry L'Hommedieu of Los Angeles and Randi L'Hommedieu of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; one sister, Linda Kleem of Power Springs, Ga.; and six grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow and at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane in Owings. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Promise Land Ministry of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 710 Mason Beach Road, Deale, MD 20751. Elturino Loiacono Elturino L. "Lucky" Loiacono, 82, of Annapolis died Aug. 15 at Heritage Harbour Health Center. Mr. Loiacono was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Washington, D.C. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946; his awards included the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of the 10th Armored Division, Purple Heart, Sons of Italy, and the DAV. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Constance Loiacono; two sons; three daughters; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 in Arlington National Cemetery; those attending should meet at the administration building at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093-5142. Online condolences may be made at www.johnmtaylorfuneralhome.com. Palmer C. White Palmer C. White, 71, of Randallstown and previously of Severna Park, died Aug. 10 in his home. Mr. White was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Severna Park to the late Cora S. and Theodore W. White Sr. He attended George Washington Carver High School in Towson and Wiley H. Bates High School. An entrepreneur, he worked with PCW Sedan Service, Inc. and was a certified professional chauffeur and a sub-contractor with Carey Limousine services, He served in the Army and was affiliated with the 555th Partite Company. He received a certificate of completion from the 82nd Airborne Division, where he successfully completed the Basic Airborne Course, and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Wayman Good Hope A.M.E. Church and attended Genesis Catonsville Common, and was a former member of the Jackson and Johnson Memorial Post 263 and the American Legion. He was president of the 555th Airborne Association of Baltimore. He enjoyed attending old model car shows, sitting in his recliner and listening to jazz and blues. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah and Armeletia White of Baltimore; three sons, Ronald Carroll of Baltimore, Earl Butler of Charlotteville, Va., and Terry Brown of Annapolis; one brother, Theodore W. White Jr.; one sister, Sylvia W. Nolan of Arnold; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Christian wake will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at Wayman Good Hope A.M.E. Church, 100 Hoyle Lane in Severna Park. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, and arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary. |
