Today's obituaries recognize: Cirnell Brown Jr. and Ella Zorb.

Cirnell Brown Jr.

Cirnell Brown Jr., 62, of Annapolis died Sept. 9 in his home.

Mr. Brown was born Dec. 7, 1945, in Annapolis to the late Mary and Cirnell Brown Sr.

Survivors include three sisters, Gertrude McGowan of Annapolis, Mildred Curtis of Upper Marlboro and Marion Hairston of Aberdeen.

Family and friends may visit at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the South Annapolis Congregation Kingdom Hall, 65 Tarragon Lane in Edgewater. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., and interment is private. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.


Ella Zorb

Ella Mae Zorb, 84, a resident of Crofton since 1974, died Sept. 10 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood.

Mrs. Zorb was born Sept. 6, 1924, in Washington, D.C., to the late Joseph B. and Ella B. Huntt.

She was a retired government sales manager and worked for Barton Duer and Koch Paper Co. in Cheverly.

She was an active member of the Crofton Garden Club and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where she served on the altar guild and on the vestry.

She was passionate about her work with the Crofton Christian Caring Council, raising money for community members in need of assistance. She was a competitive bridge player and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Zorb; two brothers, William M. and John W. Huntt; and one sister, Mary E. Leonardi.

Survivors include two sons, G. David Zorb of Lewes, Del., and G. Bruce Zorb of Burke, Va.; three granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 Second Ave. S.W. in Glen Burnie.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephen's Church Road in Crownsville. Interment will be private in the Washington Street United Methodist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crofton Christian Caring Council, care of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1110 Stephen's Church Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
