James Dent

Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer James Francis Dent, 85, a resident of Severna Park for over 50 years, died Sept. 11 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Chief Dent was born May 23, 1923, in Ecorse, Mich., to the late John and Mildred Dent.

He served in the Navy for 30 years, including service in the South Pacific during World War II.
