Gordon Phipps Sr.
Gordon Edward "Stump" Phipps Sr., 87, a lifelong resident of Harwood, died of heart failure Sept. 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Phipps was born May 19, 1921, in Harwood.
He was a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1993 after 52 years of delivering mail in the Harwood, West River, Galesville, Churchton, Deale and Shadyside areas.
He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Owensville.
