Police Beat for December 3Published 12/03/08
BROADNECK PENINSULAParty robbery A man was robbed outside of a house party shortly after midnight Thursday. At 12:06 a.m. officers went to the intersection of Log Inn Road and College Parkway East near Sandy Point State Park, after they received a call about a robbery. The victim told police he was outside the house when four men approached. One pulled out a revolver, put it to the victim's head and ordered him to empty his pockets. The victim grabbed the gun and fought the suspect. The three other suspects went through the victim's pockets and took his cellular telephone, wallet, keys and cash. The suspects then dropped the victim's wallet and phone and ran toward East College Parkway, a county Police Department news release said. The victim cut his hands but did not go to the hospital. Officers searched the area but did not find the suspects. West CountySuspect sought County police are asking for public's help in locating Raul Ramos-Guido who is wanted for a November robbery at Arundel Mills mall. Police have issued a warrant for Mr. Ramos-Guido's arrest in connection with the robbery, and detectives are investigating if he had a part in other robberies around the mall, county police said. Police said that during the Nov. 26 robbery, a man approached a woman in the mall parking lot near Bass Pro Shops. He implied that he had a weapon, pulled her purse, and ran to a waiting vehicle with a driver at the ready. The victim saw the license plate number and gave it to police, who tracked the vehicle to the area of Lanham, Prince George's County. So far detectives have tried to interview the suspect's family and have watched his house. Mr. Ramos-Guido, 23, is a Hispanic male who is 5 feet 9 inches tall. He weighs about 200 pounds, and is often in the Lanham area. To report information about the crime or suspect, call, e-mail or text message your tip to the Metro Crime Stoppers hotline. Armed robbery An Odenton man, 49, was robbed at gunpoint after he got into a stranger's van at 12:40 a.m. Thursday in Severn, county police said. The victim was walking near the intersection of Reece and Severn roads when a dark-colored minivan pulled up and the occupants offered him a ride. When he got inside one of the passengers pulled out a gun and demanded money, which the victim gave him before they pushed him out of the van. The victim was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie for treatment, according to a county Police Department news release. Police describe all three suspects as black men who are from 18 to 25 years old. During the robbery, one had braided hair with gold clips, and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The other two were wearing dark clothing. |
