Home invasion

Three men forced their way into a Severn home Tuesday night and tried to rob a resident, county police said.

The resident, 29, told police that at 8:50 p.m. he heard a knock on his door in the 7900 block of Telegraph Road. It was a woman, and she asked to use his phone because her vehicle had broken down.

He refused and tried to shut his door. But before he could get the door closed, three masked men jumped out and forced it back open.

The men walked into the home, pointed a handgun, and demanded money, police said. When the man said he had no cash, the robbers tried to steal a television, but couldn't remove it from the home.

The robbers and the woman ran from the home empty-handed. Police searched the area, but could not find them.

Millersville

Trucker threatened

An employee for a towing company trying to repossess a vehicle Friday morning encountered a gunman intent on keeping the car, police said. At 4:36 a.m. police went to the 8300 block of Woodland Road in Millersville for a report of a person armed with a gun.

Employees of MC & MC Transport and Towing were at a home looking for a vehicle that was supposed to be repossessed. However, as they shined a light on a home, a man and woman got out.

The woman reached inside the tow truck and tried to grab the keys from the ignition. The man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the driver but was shot with a dose of pepper spray from the person sitting in the tow truck's passenger seat, a police news release said.

Police then arrested the man and woman.

Frederick Nilsen, 33, of Millersville, was charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

Dori Storin, 46, also of Millersville, was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Pizza man robbed

County police charged a Millersville man and teenager with robbery and theft after police in a helicopter spotted them during an investigation.

At about 6:51 p.m., a pizza delivery man told police he was robbed in the 600 block of Midstream Court in Millersville, by two people as he tried to make a delivery Saturday evening.

The delivery man said he was making a delivery, when two people approached him and demanded the pizza, and he gave it to them, a county Police Department news release stated.

Someone saw the two suspects run toward Harpers Mill, and "numerous officers, K-9 units and an aviation unit responded to the area to search for them."

Officers in the helicopter spotted two suspects and directed officers to them, the news report said.

Stewart R. Robinson, 18, of 515 Chalet Drive West in Millersville, and an unidentified 15-year-old boy, also from Millersville, were charged with robbery and theft.

North County

Attempted robbery

Three men punched a delivery man in Glen Burnie Tuesday night and tried to steal his cash, county police said.

The delivery man had just delivered a pizza in the 200 block of Southbridge Drive shortly after 11 p.m. when three men in dark clothing punched him in the face and torso and tried to steal his money.

They didn't get any cash, and drove away in a dark sedan, possibly a Honda Civic, police said.

The delivery driver suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

Tenant robbed

A Glen Burnie man was robbed early Thursday morning outside his apartment.

At 1:51 a.m. police went to the intersection of Budding Branch and Green Branch lanes where a man told them that he was robbed as he walked from his car to his apartment.

Four men approached, punched and kicked him on the head and upper body, rummaged through his pockets and took his wallet and credit cards.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspects, described as four black men, one wearing a red, hooded sweatshirt, and the other three in dark hooded sweatshirts.

Burglary foiled

Police said that they caught a burglar in the act as he tried to take computer equipment Saturday morning from a construction company office.

At 3:27 a.m., police went to the Beka Industries offices on the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway after an alarm system went off.

Police found a man walking inside the business, carrying computer equipment. They stopped him, and a canine unit searched the area for additional suspects but didn't find any, according to a county Police Department news release.

Police arrested Grant Gruzenski, 30, of the 8000 Block of Warton Court in Pasadena, and charged him with fourth-degree burglary, theft and destruction of property, court records show.

Gun seized

Five Glen Burnie residents - two adults and three juveniles - were arrested Nov. 26 after police found a handgun in their car.

At 2:02 a.m. police received a call about an attempted auto theft at the 8000 block of Green Bud Lane in Glen Burnie. Employees of the security company that reported the call had detained three of the suspects, but two others ran, police said.

Later, police found two suspects that matched descriptions of the two men who ran. Police also found a loaded .32-caliber revolver in their car.

All five suspects, all of Glen Burnie, were arrested, the news report said.

Lavar Grigsby, 20, and Abdul Hill, 18, were charged with possession of a handgun in a vehicle and rogue and vagabond, court records show. Three juveniles, also from Glen Burnie, were also charged, a county Police Department report stated.
