Bank burglary

Someone broke into an Annapolis area bank yesterday and made off with cash from an ATM, county police said.

At 3 p.m., a security company worker went to the PNC bank at 2568 Riva Road to repair the ATM, which had malfunctioned the night before.

When he entered the bank, the worker noticed the building had been burgled and the machine had been broken into, according to police reports.

Police said that sometime overnight the burglar cut the telephone wires to the bank and came in through the back door. The safe inside the machine was broken into with an unknown tool and cash was taken, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Southern District Detective Unit at 410-222-1960.

Electronics stolen

Someone stole a 42-inch plasma television and two projectors this week from Lowes Annapolis Hotel on West Street, city police said.

An employee told police the items were taken from a storage room sometime from Monday to Wednesday. The items were valued at $4,000, the employee told police.
