The boys, who police did not identify, confessed this week that they broke into a bus Sept. 10 parked outside St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and spray painted the letters "KKK" the acronymn for the Ku Klux Klan, on a back window, police said.

After consulting with prosecutors, police on Wednesday then charged each boy with one count each of destruction of property and hate crime.

Several county and community leaders yesterday denounced the boy's alleged activities,...

Once again - 2009-09-20 03:38:30

If these two misguided young men set the bus on fire and spray painted KKK on the ground then I'd rake them over the coals. I'm amazed news like this even gets press time in The Capital.

"Hate crimes are rare..." - 2009-09-19 12:39:21

"...in Anne Arundel County." Yeah, right...and there's no crime and street gangs in Crofton, right?

Oh yeah, I'm sorry--thank you for clarifying that with your "hate incidents" statistic. "Only five of those actually met the state's definition of a hate crime." OK, fine--that still translates to one every other month. That doesn't rate as "rare" to me!

Go ahead...ask me what's so funny!

Black or White It's Wrong - 2009-09-19 08:54:41

The Black Kids should have the same rules applied as well. That is the problem with a lot of Black People lately they think that since their History has Racism and Slavery in it that when they do something it is in response to their degradation. No! It is due to dumbness and lack of respect period. The parents are just as bad as the kids lately which is where the kide learn it. Until harder punishment is met by all not just some only then will things start to change. But as long as people allow them to think it is not that serious things will never change....

These punks need a good butt-whipping just like the Black kids that spray painted our pier with racist words. But that was just plain vandalism........
