Queen Anne's County authorities have arrested eight people during two different drug investigations this month, officials said this week.
On Sept. 10 the county Drug Task Force, along with supporting police agencies, served two search warrants at Jetty Bar and Restaurant in Grasonville. Police said that, before they executed the search warrant, they saw a hand-to-hand drug transaction and saw three people consume drugs on the premises, officials said.
Police took the people into custody and then arrested the two who were the targets of the search warrants.
Warrant team members said that later, during a search of two residences in Grasonville, they found seven marijuana plants, nine oxycodone pills, 5 grams of marijuana and trace amounts of cocaine. They seized the drugs, plus $329 in cash and a 2004 Acura, officials said.
Arrested were:
Timothy Brian Cordle Jr., 32, of Grasonville, charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana, oxycodone, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He is not related to David Cordle, the Republican candidate for mayor of Annapolis.
Colleen Ann Slebzak, 27, of Annapolis, charged with possession of marijuana, oxycodone and drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Jay Walters, 20, of Grasonville, charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Nicholas Allen Kleppinger, 18, of Chester, charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On Friday, the task force arrested four people after executing a search warrant in Centreville.
The task force, along with the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office and the Centreville Police Department, went to 208 Little Kidwell Ave. at 11:30 p.m. They said they found a loaded .38-caliber revolver, 21 grams of marijuana, 5.8 grams of cocaine, 21 oxycodone pills and two digital scales.
They also found $2,490 in cash and evidence of long-term drug distribution in the home, police said.
Arrested were:
Charles Eric Gray Jr., 19, charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Carroll Daniel Gibson, 19, charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm in nexus of a drug crime.
William Edward Freeman, 22, charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm in connection with a drug crime.
Dontell Lamont Guy, 22, charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm in nexus of a drug crime.
Police said the owner of the home also may be charged with drug possession and maintaining a common nuisance.
Police have received numerous complaints from neighbors and passers-by about loud noise and drug dealing at that address. The homeowner threatened a Centreville Police officer recently during the report of a loud-noise complaint, officials said.
The drug task force is a combined effort of the Maryland State Police, the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, the Queen Anne's County State's Attorney's Office, the Centreville Police Department and the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
