ACLU calls for probe of inmate strip searchesPublished 10/20/09
Reports of "unusually invasive and intentionally degrading strip searches" at a county jail have prompted the ACLU of Maryland to ask for an investigation. Inmates allege one particular officer forced them into "striptease" searches that lasted as long as 12 minutes, during which inmates removed articles of clothing one piece at a time. The inmates were reportedly ridiculed by officers afterward.
