Dangers of DUI/DWI - 2009-10-27 08:23:52

For those that doubt the dangers of drinking and driving. I challenge you to volunteer one week at Shock Trauma in Baltimore. See the hurt and pain for the victims and their families caused by alcohol.

Simply Stupid - 2009-10-27 04:01:58

Stanley D. are you serious? Any person that decides to drive after drinking should be arrested. Have you ever had the misfortune of attening the funeral of a child killed by a drunk driver? I have. Have you lost a sibling because some idiot decided to drive drunk? I have. I can tell you there is NO excuse for driving under the influence or while flat out drunk. People die because of some moron that decides to drive rather than find an alternate way home. A mistake in judgement as you put it is a choice to get behind the wheel and kill an innocent person. The sad part is the police do their parts to get these idiots off the road while the judges are allowing those same people to go out and possibly kill someone the next time they make that "mistake in judgement" as you put it.

To Stanley D. - 2009-10-23 11:08:52

Are you kidding me? These people were pulled over for a reason. The police noticed something in their driving that wasn't right. They were drunk. Drinking and driving is dangerous. They weren't just unlucky, in fact I'd be more likely to say that they were lucky they didn't kill someone after making a foolish decision to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking.

simple solution - 2009-10-22 23:34:18

Don't drink and drive; Have cops monitor people as they drive home at closing time--especially downtown annapolis.

drinking and driving - 2009-10-22 23:23:45

Anytime anyone has had anything to drink and then drives the vehicle being driven, regardless of to whom it belongs, should be confiscated and sold as well as the individual's driver's license being revoked forever. I suspect those "mistakes in judgement" would soon be very rare.

Drunk - 2009-10-22 15:17:14

There is a point when it is necessary to charge them with a DUI. If you don't know the facts, many of these may have contributed to an accident in one way or another. If someone is involved in an accident, do you expect the police officer to ignore the fact that they were drinking? If they have had priors, they likely do it all the time and are endangering others frequently. True, if they have a .07 or less, they shouldn't have driven but are much less a hazard as the more frequent drunk drivers.
