Lights damaged

Someone broke three light fixtures at a city recreation center overnight Wednesday, city police said.

Officers were called to 1701 Belle Court and found that three light fixtures had been broken between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. yesterday. The lights are on the rear deck area of the center, police said.

The lights are valued at $50 each.

School disrupted

City police were called to the J. Albert Adams Academy twice yesterday for reports of students disrupting the school, police said.

Officers went to the school at 245 Clay St. at 1:25 p.m. for a report of a student who came into class singing. When asked to stop, the 14-year-old boy became verbally abusive, yelling and making threats, police said.

Officers arrested the boy, who lives on Tyler Avenue, and released him into the custody of his grandmother.

At 1:51 p.m. officers were called to the school again, this time for a report of a student who refused to report to the principal's office. The boy, who is from Baltimore, said: "You are going to have to call the police to make me leave," according to a police report on the incident.

The teacher removed all the other students from the classroom and called police.

The boy was arrested and later released to his father.

Both students were charged with disrupting school activities.

NORTH COUNTY

Burglary arrests

County police say two women charged Wednesday with breaking into a home might be responsible for several burglaries in the Pasadena area.

About 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 7900 block of River Walk Way in Pasadena for a burglary. A witness told police they saw two women run from the residence to a nearby home in the 1300 block of Riverwood Way. Police were familiar with the two women and arrested them at the home.

Officers searched the home of the suspects and found property taken from the residence on River Walk Way, police said. Property that had been reported stolen from residences and cars in previous break-ins also was found in the home.

Police believe the women broke into several more residences and vehicles in the area. The investigation is ongoing.

Jessica Rose Lease, 22, and Valerie Renee Spencer, 20, both of 1329 Riverwood Way in Pasadena, were each charged with first, third- and fourth-degree burglary, theft over $1,000, and malicious destruction to property.

Further charges are pending investigation into other related burglaries, police said.

Trio charged

Two men and a 15-year-old were charged yesterday with robbing a cab driver in Hanover, county police said.

The cab driver was parked in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle about 9:05 p.m. when two young men with handguns walked up and demanded money.

After taking the driver's cash, the men met with another young man and ran to the nearby Residence Inn at 7035 Arundel Mills Circle, police said.

Officers searching the area found the trio behind the inn. The cab driver identified them as the men who robbed him.

Lorenzo Lamar Jones, 18, of 7892 Huguenot Court in Severn, Deshawn Manigault, 18, of 1837 Oriole Court in Severn, and a 15-year-old boy from Severn, were each charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-and second-degree assault, and theft under $100.

The teen was charged as a juvenile.

2 young men robbed

Two young men were assaulted and robbed yesterday evening while walking in Severn, county police said.

The 17-year-old and 18-year-old men were walking on Pioneer Drive near Deerfield Road about 6:35 p.m. when they were attacked by at least two men. They told police the men struck them in the head and knocked them to the ground.

While the victims were down, the robbers grabbed a cell phone from one of the young men and ran away.

Police say they have identified two possible suspects and an investigation to find more suspects is ongoing.

No charges have been filed in the attack as of this morning.

Armed robbery

A man was slashed with a box cutter Sunday during a robbery in Brooklyn Park, county police said.

The man told police he was in the 5500 block of Ritchie Highway just before 9 p.m. when four men robbed him. He said one of the men pulled out a box cutter and cut him on the arm.

The man said that when he tried to run away, the men tackled and assaulted him further. After snatching cash from the man's pockets, the men got into a dark-colored sport utility vehicle and drove toward Morgan Road in Brooklyn Park.

The man was taken to Harbor Hospital in Baltimore with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

His attackers are described as black men. One was between 20 and 30 years old and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black cap.

Copper stolen

Four 100-foot rolls of copper wire were stolen last week from the back of a pickup in Glen Burnie, county police said.

A man told police the four 200-pound rolls of wire and a black bag filled with $800 worth of tools were discovered missing from the bed of his gray 2007 Nissan Frontier about 9 a.m. Oct. 29.

He said the pickup was parked in front of his home in the 8900 block of Twin Ridge Drive when the theft occurred.

The rolls of wire were strapped down in the bed of his truck, police said. The wire was last seen about 5 p.m. Oct. 28.
