At about noon Monday, a man and a woman clipped the screens off the windows of Morgan's house on Gordon Lane and crawled inside. Recovering at home from a tonsillectomy, Morgan was eating ice cream and watching television.
"I heard footsteps in the kitchen and that's when I got really scared," Morgan said. "How could they not know someone was there? There was ice cream on the table."

Good on this girl. Now we need to get our 911 system to catch up with technology and start accepting 911 text messages. What would have happened if the parents didn't answer their phones and the girl couldn't talk as not to alert the burglars of her location?

One thing about the article. Mom was concerned about identifying herself. Perhaps giving the husband's name was not in the mother's best interest?
