Malpractice bills headed for governor's vetoPublished 12/29/04
Democratic lawmakers have charted a collision course for a veto from the governor as they headed into today's second day of debate on medical malpractice reform. Both houses of the General Assembly yesterday quickly discarded Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s proposal to help doctors pay their escalating insurance premiums and rein in malpractice awards, pushing versions that contained a tax on health maintenance organizations.
