Lawmakers' malpractice reform becomes lawPublished 01/12/05
Democratic lawmakers mustered enough votes last night to override Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s veto of a medical malpractice bill, but failed to block his rejection of measures creating a "living wage" and capping tuition. The Senate voted 31-15 to overturn Mr. Ehrlich's veto from Monday, two more than needed. The House squeaked by with an 85-50 vote, exactly the number needed.
