Noise bill a shot in the foot for gun club?Published 04/26/05
A bill set to be signed by Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. doesn't seem to say what its sponsors intended, and a county lawmaker plans to ask the governor to hold off. The bill, amended at the urging of Pasadena's Stoney Creek Fishing and Hunting Club and passed by an overwhelming margin, would allow Anne Arundel and other counties to adopt noise control regulations that could prohibit shooting at some clubs. "Our intent was to protect the gun club," said Sen. Philip C. Jimeno, D-Brooklyn Park, who requested an amendment to the bill intending to do just that.
