Close to 50 subscribers responded to a Reader Response question sent out by The Capital Friday afternoon, following Mr. Schaefer's ogling of a young assistant at last week's Board of Public Works meeting.
Many readers said that while Mr. Schaefer was wrong, the issue has received too much attention. But 23 said Mr. Schaefer should apologize.
Molly Groo of Churchton wrote that what the comptroller did "would be grounds for dismissal at most jobs."
