A month ago, a bill that would alter the selection process for the county's school board seemed poised to sail through the legislature. Now, it's sinking. Three of the five county senators said this morning they will vote against the bill, making it dead on arrival. "I don't think that's going anywhere," said Sen. Ed DeGrange Sr., D-Glen Burnie. The leading proposal is a bill that would change the selection process from the governor picking whomever he wants, to requiring him to choose from a list provided by a county panel, then making the appointees run uncontested in an election.
